Fan Of The Month - September 2025
ELIZABETH
1. When did you first become a fan of Dashboard Confessional?
I became a fan the first time I heard The Swiss Army Romance album! I remember being at my friend’s house, and her parents were telling me about DC because the album had just come out. I asked them to let me listen to their favorite song at the time, and they played Turpentine Chaser. That was the start of my love for DC! Every album since then has felt tailor made for me, one way or another.
2. How has Dashboard Confessional affected your life?
When my husband was deployed, Living in Your Letters was the theme song to that entire chapter of my life. Then after having our rainbow baby, Vindicated lifted me up from the hardest parts of my postpartum journey. “I am flawed, but I am cleaning up so well,” takes on a whole new meaning to me. DC has played a role in so many different chapters of my life, and I’m definitely grateful for that.
3. If you have attended a Dashboard Confessional concert - what was it like for you? I’ve been to a few shows, and it’s always electric. I love that experiencing each song live takes me back to certain moments in my life. Now my four year old likes DC, and I’m hoping to take her not only to her first DC show this year, but her first show EVER.
4. Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Saints & Sailors Fan Club?
Maybe a little perk sent to you each year you’re a part of the fan club! Like a decal or pin or something. But that’s such a small and odd suggestion lol
5. If you could give Dashboard Confessional a message - what would it be?
I just want to acknowledge how impactful the music is. It’s gotten me through everything from adolescence to deployments to motherhood… and now, graduation. I can’t thank DC enough.
