Fan Of The Month - November 2024

NICOLE

1.  When did you first become a fan of Dashboard Confessional?
I became a DC fan in 2006. I had just graduated high school, had transitioned to college, and was just beginning to drive. I came across Rhino Records shop and shopped around. I came across the DC Unplugged CD and purchased it. I listened to it over and over and over again in my car and never looked back. I purchased or downloaded all the records since then and DC has become a part of my daily routine.

2.  How has Dashboard Confessional affected your life?
I think when I need to express my emotions in a healthy way, I can always find a DC song that I can sing, and cry to, or just vibe to. DC is my therapy for when I'm sad or happy.

3.  If you have attended a Dashboard Confessional concert - what was it like for you?
I have been to 3 Dashboard concerts and will attend my fourth on Oct. 5 in Anaheim. The first two were at the House of Blues in Anaheim and were absolutely unforgetable. I loved just being in the middle of the crowd, singing and connecting. The last one I attended at the House of Blues was in February right before lockdown, so I was very lucky to not get sick lol, and it didn't get canceled. The last concert I went to was at the Youtube Theater with the Counting Crows. To be honest, I had seen the Counting Crows in concert years before with John Mayer, I'm not a huge fan of them, although they have had an amazing career. I had only gone to see DC. Although DC put on an amazing show as always, I just didn't like the seating and the people around me. I wasn't like when I had gone to a DC headliner show, when the crowd fed off each other and connected. It was more like people were ignoring them, standing in my way just talking and walking about not paying attention bc DC was the opening band. It was a bit annoying. Overall, DC always puts on amazing shows.

4.  Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Saints & Sailors Fan Club?
I think a special T-shirt would be amazing, because it would connect us all, but in an exclusive way for those who pay to be in the Fan Club.

5.  If you could give Dashboard Confessional a message - what would it be?
I would say that DC is such an important part of my life, and I will forever be grateful for Chris and his passion for music and artistry. He is so humble and has an amazing soul. I can't wait for the VIP portion of my night next weekend.
