Fan Of The Month - March 2024

BRETT

1.  When did you first become a fan of Dashboard Confessional?
Knew of the band but didn't actual follow till I heard the song Vindicated in Spiderman. Lame I know. I was a big comic book nerd and that song is perfect for that movie. I looked at the Dashboard back catalog. I picked up the Unplugged CD and wore it out.

2.  How has Dashboard Confessional affected your life?
Dashboard has expanded my music tastes. I had lost contact with the band in thhe 2010s...and its music till I saw Chris make comments about Julien Baker and cover her song. I am a Big Baker fan. I turned and FELL hard for all things Dashboard all over again. I also wound up exploring the emo category more fully and discovering other bands I ignored back in the 2000s. Thx Chris.

3.  If you have attended a Dashboard Confessional concert - what was it like for you?
Chris played a Songkick show in NYC in 2018. Washed Up Emo did the Q&A. Chris playing in that small space? Cmon. How could you not go ga-ga for all the songs ALL OVER AGAIN?!

4.  Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Saints & Sailors Fan Club?
Have had opportunities like the Crows tour to see the band again. Really looking for that record release show or small room event again. I just saw a show at the McKittrick Hotel with Ed Sheeran. Great stage and space for signer/songwriter vibe. Adam Duritz from the Counting CRows throws a party with small up and coming bands at Bowery Electric. Place has a great vibe too. I am a fan...so of course I want a small show. hahah For Club fans only....

5.  If you could give Dashboard Confessional a message - what would it be?
Crooked Shadows shows that Chris still has the juice. He isn't unplugged from what works. Passionate ....from the heart..still works. I would tell him to keep that burning. I look forward to the new stuff as much as I enjoy the old nuggets from Swiss Army.
