Fan Of The Month - December 2025

STEPHANIE

1.  When did you first become a fan of Dashboard Confessional?
I became a fan when I was 14 years old, in freshman year geometry class. I asked the girl in front of me what she was listening to and she said "Dashboard Confessional." I had never heard of that band, so I went home and illegally downloaded some songs (sorry about that!) and the rest was history.

2.  How has Dashboard Confessional affected your life?
As a teenager, listening to Dashboard was the first time I felt like the music was "for me." In the past, I got my musical taste from my older siblings, but Dashboard was the first time I discovered a band and loved them. Dashboard has been with me in every important moment of my life. High school, college, falling in love with my husband, my wedding day, my 20s, my 30s, etc. It's really been the soundtrack of my life.

3.  If you have attended a Dashboard Confessional concert - what was it like for you? I've seen Dashboard 43 times. My dad joked at some point in my 20s that I would eventually get tired of seeing the same band over and over again, but that definitely has not been the case. Scream-singing songs that live in my bones with thousands of my friends never gets old. Every time, there's something new to love - a new friend I met, a new joke, a new way of hearing a line I've heard a million times. My favorite Dashboard show was my 34th. It was at The Caverns in Pelham, TN on my 34th birthday. That venue was WILD and also Chris said happy birthday to me :)

4.  Any suggestions for what we can do/set up for Saints & Sailors Fan Club?
Maybe a way to connect with people that live locally? Like, if I could see a list of people in SW Ohio who want to be friends, I would definitely reach out!

5.  If you could give Dashboard Confessional a message - what would it be?
I don't take for granted that the musician I hitched my proverbial wagon to 24 years ago turned out to be a genuinely wonderful person. I see some of my friends who loved a musician in the way that I love Dashboard be really disappointed when they meet that person. Chris is such a kind and thoughtful person and realizing that about the person who wrote these songs that have meant so much to you is a gift.
